Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our team at Senior Solutions Management Group. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Follow proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that the proper quantity of food is prepared and stored, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Special Events: Prepare food for special events as instructed by the supervisor, demonstrating creativity and flexibility in menu planning and execution.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the dining services team to ensure seamless service and high-quality food presentation.
  • Quality Control: Taste prepared food to ensure quality taste and palatability prior to service, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Temperature Control: Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service, recording temperatures according to established policy.
  • Food Presentation: Ensure that meals are served in an attractive, appetizing manner, meeting our high standards of presentation and quality.
  • Logistics: Ensure that meals are sent from the kitchen or serving area according to established time schedules, maintaining a smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Housekeeping: Wash pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production, and service of food, equipment, and other areas of the dining services operation.

Requirements:

  • Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training or certification preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in food preparation and service, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Excellent culinary skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: ServSafe certification a plus.
