Job Overview

As a Retail Floor Leader, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager to ensure a retail environment that prioritizes exceptional customer service, fosters employee morale, provides comprehensive training, and drives sales and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant retail experience is required.
  • Completion of necessary industry certification within three months of employment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining adequate staffing levels across departments, including scheduling and timekeeping functions.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to company policies, including dress code and paperwork completion.
  • Provide feedback to the Store Manager regarding employee performance evaluations.
  • Identify and coordinate project completion as needed.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash drawer preparation.
  • Act as a liaison between management and hourly associates, executing directives as required.
  • Engage with customers to address inquiries and assist with their needs.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Operate the cash register when necessary.
  • Assist with store maintenance tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong integrity and ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret safety guidelines and operational manuals.
  • Mathematical skills for calculating discounts and managing store records.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Some familiarity with construction and maintenance tasks is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

This position involves frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs., standing, walking, and reaching. Candidates should be prepared for occasional lifting of heavier items and must possess the manual dexterity to operate a computer and cash register.

Work Environment

The role is primarily performed within a retail setting, with occasional outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions. The work environment is fast-paced, with regular deadlines and performance expectations.
