Job Summary:

The Material Man position is a critical role in the transmission construction system, requiring a high level of expertise and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety codes and procedures.
  • Verify receipt of material shipments against bill of lading.
  • Offload vendor deliveries using proper equipment.
  • Organize material in storage for ease of access.
  • Pick and assemble material and material kits for underground construction requirements.
  • Deliver material and material kits to construction work sites.
  • Investigate discrepancies in inventory records.
  • Maintain warehouse or stockroom housekeeping.

Requirements:

  • Class A CDL driver's license preferred.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Knowledge of transmission materials and slang terms.
  • Training and certification to operate heavy-lifting machinery.
  • High energy level and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

The Material Man will work in a warehouse or stockroom environment, with occasional exposure to extreme conditions at construction job sites.

  • Customer-focused and able to follow company safety rules and policies.
