About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Systems Crew Chief to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Mission Operations Support (NMOS) Team, you will be responsible for leading technical teams and overseeing the operation of satellite systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Satellite Systems Operator (SSO) and Ground Control Operator (GCO) functions, including commanding and State of Health (SOH) activities for one or more space assets.
  • Monitor satellite telemetry for proper vehicle performance and evaluate TT&C alarms for possible anomalous conditions onboard the satellites.
  • Configure and maintain the Ground Control application and perform all ground system activities, including positional changeover and configuration of ground system assets.
  • Coordinate with the GCO for the configuration of ground hardware for satellite commanding and provide real-time configuration changes to prohibit data interruptions.
  • Notify the SCCH of all ground system reconfigurations and problems, and support playbacks for analysis.
  • Conduct Satellite Control Network and Relay Ground Station support to collect satellite positional information and resolve real-time scheduling conflicts in coordination with the SCCH.
Requirements
  • Current Final Top-Secret security clearance required prior to start, with ability to achieve and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience leading technical teams and performing on-console satellite experience.
  • Previous SBIRS/NGG training experience with Satellite Ground System and TT&C, and previous experience with Launch and Early Orbit Testing.
  • Well-organized, self-starter able to take direction and work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision while leading teams to include collaborating across the NGG environment.
  • Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities and make recommendations on operational and engineering improvements.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
