Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager plays a pivotal role in managing all facets of quality oversight and control within the organization. This position entails the formulation and execution of quality benchmarks, protocols, and performance indicators to guarantee that products and services fulfill or surpass customer expectations and industry regulations.

The Quality Assurance Manager will supervise a team of quality assurance professionals, perform audits and evaluations, interpret data, and spearhead continuous enhancement initiatives aimed at improving overall product and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement quality management frameworks and procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Set quality objectives and targets that align with the strategic goals of the organization and customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF standards across the facility.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics; assess quality data to determine the efficacy of existing processes or proposed modifications.
  • Guide and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals, offering support and direction to ensure optimal performance and accountability.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Examine quality data and performance metrics to uncover trends, identify root causes of defects, and explore opportunities for process improvement.
  • Oversee quality measurement facilities and instruments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to resolve quality challenges and implement corrective measures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on quality to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees at all levels.
  • Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment on quality expectations and requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to elevate overall product and service quality, minimize waste, and boost efficiency.
  • Engage in activities aimed at achieving quality, productivity, waste reduction, and cost-saving objectives.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in quality management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001 and IATF16949 standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on quality management.
  • Experience in quality system auditing.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing context.
  • Proficient in quality management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control.
  • Ability to organize manufacturing processes and production plans for new facilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and inspire a diverse production team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in quality management or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Six Sigma Black Belt, or other relevant certifications.
  • Certifications in quality management (ISO, IATF, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Understanding of quality management systems within the automotive sector.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
