Loss Prevention Detective

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Loss Prevention Detective to join our team at Giant Eagle Inc. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the safety and security of our stores and customers.
About the Role
- This is a full-time position with an estimated annual salary of $43,000 - $58,000 based on experience.
- The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working in a retail environment, preferably in law enforcement or security.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds is essential.
- This role requires regional travel, typically less than 10% of the time.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
Responsibilities
- Detect and apprehend shoplifters using standard visual practices and CCTV systems.
- Create video records of incidents for law enforcement and internal departments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and report malfunctions in CCTV equipment, providing solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Provide testimony in court cases as required by law enforcement or court representatives.
- Report any potential internal integrity issues to the assigned loss prevention representative.
- Communicate effectively with customers and law enforcement personnel.
- Perform other security and loss prevention duties to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and Team Members.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety as the top priority for our Team Members, guests, and products.
