The Therapeutic Radiology Specialist will deliver radiation treatment and simulations with minimal oversight, following the directives and guidelines established by the radiation oncologist.

This position requires the discernment to determine when to delay treatment pending consultation with the oncologist. Furthermore, the specialist will play a role in treatment planning processes, which include tumor localization and dosimetry.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic proficiency in computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or treatment center setting. Acceptance of students from an AMA-accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology is also considered.
  • ARRT, RT (R) registration or eligibility for registration. Completion of registration requirements within the first year of employment.
  • Possession of a current Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate with the Texas Medical Board or initiation of the application process prior to hire for new graduates in training.
  • Maintenance of current licensure/registration/certification, including BLS certification.
