Truck Mechanic Job Description

At Charlie Burnham Energy Service, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our team. As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, repairing company vehicles and equipment, and ensuring the fleet is in a high state of operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily truck reports and immediately address any safety issues.
  • Perform lubrication, fluid checks, and oil changes in accordance with company preventive maintenance schedules and vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Conduct routine repairs on all vehicle systems and components, including changing and rotating tires, brake repair, spring replacement, and troubleshooting and repair of various truck systems maintenance issues.
  • Perform all necessary vehicle inspections, including state and federal D.O.T.
  • Maintain and repair fuel pumping equipment, piping, ticket registers, and emergency shut-off systems.
  • Maintain maintenance records on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Track all parts used and report inventory needs to supervisor.
  • Schedule outside repairs with appropriate vendors.
  • Keep garage and maintenance areas neat and organized.

Certification and Testing:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License with hazardous materials, air brake, and tank endorsements CETP training and certification preferred.
  • Brake Adjusting License.
  • VK Inspections Certificate.
  • State vehicle inspection license.
  • Certificate to reseal meters and registers.
