Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Supervision: Provide administrative supervision to the athletic training department, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Direct Report Supervision: Supervise and mentor direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Performance Feedback: Provide regular performance feedback and submit comments on annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Hiring and Promotions: Oversee the hiring, promotions, and transfers of direct reports, ensuring the best candidates are selected for the role.
  • Scheduling: Establish and adjust weekly work schedules for physicians and direct reports to ensure optimal coverage.
  • Emergency Action Plans: Develop and revise emergency action plans annually to ensure compliance with standards of best practice and relevant rules and regulations.
  • Education and Training: Provide educational opportunities focused on overall athlete wellness and injury prevention for athletes, coaches, and medical staff.
  • Grievance Resolution: Manage and resolve complex grievances related to medical care provided to athletes.
  • Liaison: Act as a liaison between athletes and physicians, ensuring seamless communication and care.
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to the athletic training program, ensuring high-quality care and services.
  • Medical Exams: Perform history and physical examinations on indicated athletes, using clinical judgment to coordinate referrals and follow-up care.
  • Emergency Medical Coverage: Provide emergency medical coverage during all home athletic events.
  • Treatment and Rehabilitation: Deliver treatment and rehabilitation to indicated athletes, promoting optimal recovery and return to play.
  • Safety and Injury Prevention: Promote, develop, and implement safety and injury prevention measures to minimize risk and ensure athlete safety.
  • Medical Records: Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records, ensuring confidentiality and security.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
  • Certification: Active BOC certification.
  • Licensure: NJ Athletic Training License in good standing.
  • Certification: BLS Certification.
