Position Overview

The Pediatric Radiologic Technician plays a crucial role in our urgent care facilities, ensuring that all radiological services align with our organizational goals and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver both clinical and administrative assistance to healthcare providers, patients, and operational functions.
• Gather comprehensive medical histories, monitor patient vital signs, and conduct intake assessments.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and perform x-ray examinations in accordance with established safety protocols.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images as requested by healthcare professionals.
• Ensure all radiological equipment is maintained in optimal working condition and complies with relevant regulations.
• Document daily quality control checks of radiology equipment at the beginning of each shift.
• Record instances of repeat exposures and maintain a log for parent holding with dosimeter readings.
• Contribute to the radiology quality assurance initiatives.
• Promptly report any equipment issues to the management team.
• Assist patients experiencing distress by alerting medical personnel to emergencies.
• Collect throat and nasal specimens and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
• Support the processing of laboratory tests and routine quality assurance evaluations.
• Apply splints, ace wraps, and durable medical equipment as needed.
• Educate patients on the proper use of crutches and other assistive devices.
• Actively participate as a vital member of the patient care team.
• Ensure exam and imaging rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
• Contribute to team objectives by achieving related outcomes as required.
• Maintain operational standards by adhering to policies and procedures, reporting necessary changes to management.
• Uphold a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing established standards.
• Protect patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations.
• Enhance the reputation of our healthcare practice by taking ownership of new challenges and exploring opportunities for improvement.
• Assist patients with concerns and engage in service recovery when necessary.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, clinic operations, and procedures.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in emergency situations.
• Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of digital imaging techniques.
• Experience with electronic health records is preferred.

Compensation

The compensation for this role ranges from $33 to $50 per hour, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the individual.
