Position Summary

The Nutrition and Culinary Support Coordinator will play a vital role in offering nutritional guidance and support to our dining services team, students, and guests. This position involves collaborating on recipe development and managing our menu management database, ensuring that all recipes are accurate and compliant with dietary standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culinary Systems Management (50%)
    Collaborate with executive chefs to oversee the recipe development process and conduct thorough audits of all recipes. Assist in product research and testing to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Nutrition Consultation (50%)
    Provide expert advice on nutrition-related matters to operational managers and nutrition staff. Engage with students who have specific dietary needs and facilitate communication with health services when necessary.
  • Lead training programs on allergen management, food safety, and cultural dietary practices.
  • Support the development of menus for childcare facilities, ensuring adherence to nutritional standards.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives that promote student engagement and diversity.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a nutrition-related discipline.
  • Registered with the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in large-scale recipe development and current dining trends.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of menu management software.
  • ServSafe and HACCP certification required within the initial employment period.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in nutrition research and program development.
  • Background in university food service operations.
  • Familiarity with food menu management systems.

Working Conditions

Flexible schedule, which may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Ability to maintain a stationary position for extended periods and assist with various dining events. Must be capable of lifting and transporting items weighing 25-30 pounds.
