As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide advanced therapeutic services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on their physical and cognitive well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat individuals with complex physical disabilities, including those with multiple impairments and serious medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive physical nutritional management programs and treatment protocols to improve or maintain consumers' health and function.
  • Assess and provide seating, mobility, positioning, orthotic, or assistive devices to enhance individuals' independence and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring continuity of care and services.
  • Supervise and mentor departmental staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality enhancement activities, contributing to the improvement of therapeutic services at the facility and state level.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of clinical therapeutic evaluation and treatment principles, with a focus on individuals with cognitive impairments and developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Skilled in the use of rehabilitation and orthopedic equipment, materials, and tools, with the ability to repair and maintain therapy equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and make sound judgments in complex situations.
