Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair city utility systems, including water and wastewater systems
  • Locate, investigate, and repair interruptions to the water and wastewater systems
  • Complete water quality and dead-end main flushing to resolve water quality complaints and meet regulatory flushing requirements
  • Utilize specialized machines to perform maintenance, repair, and construction
  • Set up safety and traffic control systems for repair work
  • Stock crew trucks and work vehicles
  • Clean, service, and maintain tools, machinery, equipment, and vehicles
  • Prepare daily worksheets of job assignments and materials used
  • Prepare work orders and close-out work orders upon job completion
  • Respond to service calls concerning emergencies, problems, or issues due to inclement weather
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one
  • No experience necessary, but at least one year of related experience required for higher pay range
  • Class A CDL and TCEQ Class D Water and Wastewater Collection I licenses required for Field Operations
  • Class D and Class C TCEQ Water License required for Billing or Environmental Compliance
