Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations on a wide variety of animals and diagnose their health problems.
  • Administer vaccines and provide general preventative care to maintain the health of animals.
  • Perform surgical procedures on animals, ensuring their safety and well-being during and after the procedure.
  • Collaborate with veterinary assistants and technicians to provide top-notch care for our animal patients.
  • Educate pet owners on the general care, medical conditions, and treatments of animals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for animals, including medication, therapy, dietary changes, and surgery if necessary.
  • Keep detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of animal patients.

Requirements:

A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Active license to practice veterinary medicine in Virginia. (Will consider relocation/licensing)
Excellent diagnostic and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical conditions and procedures to pet owners.
A deep passion for animals and a commitment to providing them with the highest level of care.
The ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
A willingness to continue learning and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
