Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the administration of ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes, working closely with Radiation Oncologists to ensure accurate and effective treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with prescriptions
  • Verify treatment plans and beam energies, documenting any prescribed adjustments
  • Prepare patients for treatment, including immobilization and positioning
  • Develop x-rays and port films as needed, filing as required
  • Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the treatment unit
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program
  • ARRT and RT(T) certifications in radiation therapy and current license in state of practice
  • Current BLS certification
Physical Requirements

This role requires ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy is also required.

This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and navigate crowded and busy rooms. May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Work Environment

This role is based at Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology in Golden, Colorado. The hourly range for this position is $57.80, and actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
