Job Summary

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a travel assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. This role requires a licensed healthcare professional who specializes in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary disorders.

About the Job

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year (dependent on 36 hours of work per week)

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary conditions, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams.
    • Analyze test results, including pulmonary function tests (PFTs), arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, chest X-rays, and sleep studies.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with physicians to develop personalized treatment plans for patients with respiratory issues.
    • Adjust and monitor ventilation settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation or non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP).
  • Respiratory Treatment Administration:
    • Provide oxygen therapy via nasal cannulas, masks, or mechanical ventilators for patients with respiratory distress or low oxygen levels.
    • Administer aerosol therapy to deliver medication directly to the lungs via inhalers, nebulizers, or other devices.
  • Patient Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of respiratory treatments and adjust therapy as necessary based on patient responses.
    • Assess patients for signs of respiratory distress and intervene promptly when complications arise.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RT)
  • Strong clinical skills and experience working with patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
