Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently cleans all kitchen wares using both dishwashing machines and manual methods, adhering to stringent sanitation protocols.
  • Meticulously polishes silverware, platters, and chafing dishes to maintain a high standard of presentation.
  • Manages waste disposal by collecting trash from kitchen areas, emptying garbage receptacles, and ensuring proper waste management practices.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of waste to recover any misplaced utensils or reusable items.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all stainless steel surfaces in the kitchen, including shelving, cabinets, and appliances.
  • Regularly cleans receiving areas and other kitchen-related spaces to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Responsible for sweeping and mopping kitchen floors to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Organizes and stores all dishes and kitchen wares in designated areas.
  • Ensures the dishwashing area is cleaned and organized after each meal service.
  • Assists with food preparation and the proper storage of food items upon delivery.
  • Facilitates the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Handles all china and glassware with care to prevent breakage.
  • Continuously monitors kitchen floors to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Participates in weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Properly stores cleaning equipment and supplies in designated locations.
  • Utilizes chemical cleaning agents safely and effectively.
  • Supports food service staff by prioritizing the cleaning of essential service items.
  • Adheres to established sanitation practices, including personal hygiene standards.
  • Attends staff meetings and engages in ongoing training and development.
  • Completes additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines and operational manuals.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Understanding of cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
