About the Job:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in respiratory care principles and practices. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of respiratory care services to patients, from infants to geriatric age groups, as directed by physician orders in all settings but the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You will work independently as a licensed clinician, managing aerosolized medication, chest physiotherapy, airway clearance techniques, and hyperinflation therapy, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer oxygen and participate in patient care decisions regarding oxygen administration, utilizing respiratory assessment skills and lab results.
  • Draw, analyze, and interpret arterial blood gases.
  • Contribute to patient education and evaluation, assessing patient's vital signs, breath sounds, patient history, etc.
  • Participate as a member of the Trauma/Code 9, Critical Assessment and Critical Care Transport Teams.
  • Perform CPR and airway management.
  • Assist physician with fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
  • Initiate and change invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation according to protocol in physician's absence.
  • Conduct apnea tests for determination of brain death.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of Associates Degree required and passed CRT or RRT exam.
  • State of New Hampshire Respiratory Care practitioner license required at date of hire.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days from date of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapy credential preferred. NBRC RRT-ACCS credential preferred.
  • One-year clinical experience preferred. Trained and competent to perform all necessary procedures on a population of Newborn, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients.
