About the Role:
SSM Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing various activities for behavioral health patients under supervision and in collaboration with other mental health care professionals.
- Organize and initiate the daily schedule with assigning staff tasks on unit(s). Ensure patient safety and compliance with established policies.
- Act as an advisor for strategic therapeutic interventions or acts as an advisor of the therapeutic intervention to reduce therapeutic holds on the unit.
- Provide intervention for all high acuity issues, patient crises, or therapeutic holds that arise on the shift.
- Receives patient care assignments. Initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in performing program activities for patient population served.
- Orients new patients and significant others to the program and prepare patients for discharge and accompany them upon dismissal as indicated.
- Facilitate group social skills functions of the milieu. Facilitate task functions of the milieu such as resident community meetings and/or patient psycho educational functions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education.
- Two years' experience in a behavioral health setting.
