We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Water and Wastewater Systems Technician to join our team in Bryan County. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the water and wastewater industry and develop your skills in plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to water and wastewater treatment, including sampling, monitoring, and testing. You will also assist in operating sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform/assist in all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing the water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, performance test, and document plant processes by reading plant equipment gauges, dials, graphs, online analyzers, computer screens, meters, SCADA systems, and other instrumentation
  • Operate/assist in operating sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment plants to control flow and processing of sewage
  • Monitor control panels and adjust valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage
  • Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings and tests results to determine load requirements
  • Maintain, compile, and update plant operation logs and reports; perform and record mathematical calculations related to plant operational activities
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of physical plant and pump stations and all their components
  • Perform/assist in regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a Georgia Class III Water and Wastewater certification within 18 months of start date
  • Possession of and maintenance of a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Georgia Class III Water and Wastewater certification
  • Additional vocational education in water and sewer operations and maintenance
  • One year of experience in water and sewer construction, operations, and facilities maintenance, or a related field

Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience
