We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient records, progress notes, and observation sheets.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries and identifying patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations.
- Utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations and participate in planning and implementation of patient groups.
- Conduct active milieu assessments while assigned to checks, particularly attuned to safety concerns and assist patients in their activities of daily living.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in collaboration with others.
- No experience required; one year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
- Basic computer skills to use electronic or online systems for communication, clinical, and administrative purposes.
- A comprehensive psychiatric hospital affiliated with the Harvard Medical School and the Mass General Brigham health system.
- A multidisciplinary team environment that values integrity, compassion, respect, diversity, teamwork, excellence, and innovation.
