Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Boone Memorial Hospital Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance procedures and general mechanical repairs under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspection checks for items and equipment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Repair, install, replace, or destroy any and all defective or outdated electrical and plumbing devices/equipment within the hospital on a timely basis.
- Maintain accurate records of safety equipment tests for sprinkler system, smoke detector, devices, and pull stations.
- Receive and appropriately respond to verbal, written, and electronic requests for service.
- Complete required documentation for service requests.
- Participate/assist with departmental projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient/staff care information to ensure patient and employee rights are protected.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Keep lawns mowed and neatly trimmed.
- Keep shrubs neatly trimmed and landscaping/flower beds free from weeds.
- Keep all hospital-owned or leased properties free from debris.
- Empty trash receptacles regularly and as needed.
- Keep parking lots and sidewalks clear of debris, ice, and snow, etc.
- Perform regular maintenance on all laundry equipment, including washers and dryers.
- Perform regular maintenance on buildings, such as electrical, plumbing, painting, and ceiling/roof repairs.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance repairs.
- Ability to read and write English and follow oral/written directions.
- Ability to multi-task and concentrate with multiple interruptions.
- Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including exposure to outdoor elements, heat, cold, water, grease, chemicals, electric/radiant hazards, noise, odors, and unpredictable situations.
- Ability to exhibit courtesy and perform duties with tact and reasonable speed.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and construction installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Completion of a vocational education program in maintenance.
- Experience with HVAC (up to 80-ton air conditioners).
- Experience with Metasys.
- Experience with low-pressure water boilers.
