Research FocusWe are particularly interested in studying the selective vulnerability and degeneration of upper motor neurons in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Our multidisciplinary approach combines advanced molecular profiling methods with modern anatomical and circuit-tracing techniques to elucidate cell type-specific phenotypes during disease progression in preclinical mouse models and postmortem human tissue.
Responsibilities- Isolate and profile RNA from human and mouse tissue using FANS, TRAP, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and other molecular methods
- Purify and profile cell type-specific mitochondria from preclinical models
- Perform multi-omics analysis of sequencing and proteomics data sets
- Perform anatomical analyses using ISH, IHC, viral tracing, functional mapping
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field and prior research experience in molecular or cellular biology. Preference will be given to those with familiarity with next-generation sequencing, quantitative analysis of sequencing data, animal models of CNS disorders, neuroanatomy, and immunohistological methods.
