Chief Estimator

Job Summary:

OHL North America is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to lead our Heavy Highway Construction team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the estimating process, from thorough analysis of drawings and specifications to detailed project cost estimates using HCSS estimating software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required information is provided.
• Perform detailed project cost estimates using HCSS estimating software.
• Research selected products from a cost and constructability perspective.
• Solicit sub-contractor pricing and bids for different trades in preparation of cost estimates.
• Review progress and construction documents for constructability and lead discussions regarding alternate details and materials.
• Provide and present value engineering options and costs.
• Coordinate administrative staff in sending documents to vendors.

Requirements:

• College degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 10+ years heavy civil estimating experience.
• Substantial construction experience and/or engineering background.
• Thorough understanding of construction means and methods.
• Local knowledge of the industry.
• Fluency in English written and oral.
