We are seeking a skilled Preschool Interviewer to join our team at NORC at the University of Chicago. As a Field Data Collector, you will play a vital role in collecting high-quality data for our research projects. With a competitive hourly rate and flexible scheduling, this position is ideal for those looking for contracted work.

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $43,500, based on a 20-25 hour workweek at $20.75 per hour. We also offer benefits such as paid training, mileage reimbursement, and access to corporate discounts.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Field Data Collector, your primary responsibility will be to conduct phone and in-person interviews with preschool-aged children and their caregivers. You will work independently, managing your own schedule while meeting weekly requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, be comfortable interacting with diverse groups, and have prior experience in fields such as childcare, sales, teaching, healthcare, or customer service.

Requirements:

  • A minimum age of 18 years
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior field interviewing experience (preferably with NORC)
  • A valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday during business hours
  • Comfort with working with preschool-age children
  • Willingness to drive 50-100 miles round trip
  • Ability to navigate a tablet and document via paper assessments
  • Eligibility to work in the United States (I9 documentation required)
