Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an Infection Control Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients within the Infectious Diseases Clinic.
Key Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary Infectious Diseases team to provide evidence-based care to patients and families.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families through telephone or Patient Gateway messages.
- Document clinical care coordination, including medication questions, lab results, patient education, and nurse-driven protocols.
- Administer medication and vaccines as needed during provider clinic sessions.
- Conduct nurse visits for practice patients, providing education on infectious disease-related care.
- Interpret and evaluate lab results to assess patients' clinical response to therapy.
- Case manage patients with HIV and those receiving OPAT to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of one year of recent clinical nursing experience in a primary care or public health sexually transmitted disease practice.
- Minimum of one year of patient care coordination experience.
- Minimum of one year of patient telephone triage experience in an ambulatory outpatient setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Team-based care experience.
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records.
- Ambulatory Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS experience.
