Job Summary

This role is part of the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) at Nike, responsible for driving innovation in sustainable textiles and trims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in textile science, a passion for sustainable materials, and excellent collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sustainable materials solutions that meet Nike's key sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Innovation, Design, Product Merchandising, and Manufacturing, to deliver high-quality materials.
  • Partner with vendors to develop and test materials from inception to production.
  • Drive analysis and material reviews to optimize materials palettes and ensure timely implementation through the commercialization process.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Apparel, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of apparel industry experience or 7+ years of industry experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Technical materials knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques.
  • Experience working with sustainable materials and knowledge of industry material trends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group.
