Senior Property Tax Accountant

Service Experts is seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Tax Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing and filing property tax renditions and other related filings for our company's property tax accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file property tax renditions and other related filings for the company's property tax accounts.
  • Prepare and file personal property tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Manage property tax obligations, including coordinating, tracking, and processing payments.
  • Review and respond to inquiries from taxing jurisdictions and support audits as needed.
  • Assist with governmental tax audits, including gathering information and drafting responses.
  • Prepare responses to state and local taxing authorities for all tax correspondence received.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis on state and local tax laws.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to obtain information needed to prepare tax analysis for tax compliance.
  • Prepare accounting support activities for month-end close as it relates to property tax and sales tax.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks, including sales & use tax compliance and business licenses.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance.
  • Designation as CPA or CMI is highly preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of tax experience in a corporate tax department and/or national CPA firm position.
  • Prior experience in service or retail industries is highly preferred but not required.
  • Comprehensive experience in property tax matters required.
  • Familiarity with sales tax regulations and business licenses is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee multiple work assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a cross-functional project team environment.
