Job Summary

United Counseling Services is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Consultant to join our team. As a Mental Health Consultant, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing mental health programs and services for children and youth in Vermont.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a district/community leadership team to conduct needs assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health strategies and interventions.
  • Provide mental health consultation on the selection, implementation, and continuous review of a district-wide universal screener for student social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Support the development of mental health and wellness-related policies and procedures, including universal screening assessments, referral protocols, and staff trainings.
  • Collaborate with local education agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to develop and implement mental health programs and services.
  • Participate in evaluation activities related to mental health programs and services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and youth, particularly in school settings.
  • Knowledge of mental health systems, policies, and procedures in Vermont.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Social Worker, or Psychologist in Vermont.
  • Experience with public speaking and presentation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
