This travel occupational therapy job is available in Newton Center, Massachusetts, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. As a Mobility Specialist - Occupational Therapist, your primary responsibility will be to assess and evaluate patients' needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to improve motor skills, cognitive function, sensory processing, and social interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct initial assessments to understand patients' strengths, limitations, and goals. Use standardized tests, interviews, and observations to evaluate physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
  • Developing Treatment Plans: Create customized treatment plans based on assessment results, addressing specific patient needs. Set measurable goals for improvement in areas like self-care, mobility, work performance, and cognitive skills.
  • Providing Therapeutic Interventions: Implement individualized therapy programs to enhance patients' independence. Use activities like exercises, therapeutic games, fine motor skills tasks, and adaptive strategies to promote progress.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about rehabilitation techniques and strategies for enhancing functional independence. Provide guidance on using adaptive equipment and tools.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Participate in care planning meetings and share insights about patient progress and therapy requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed as a Mobility Specialist - Occupational Therapist at Magnet Medical, you should possess a strong foundation in occupational therapy principles and practices. A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is required. You must also be licensed to practice in the state where the job is located.
