About the Role

Aptive Resources is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a Psychiatric Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care and support to patients experiencing mental health disorders or psychiatric crises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, to evaluate patients' mental health needs, symptoms, and risk factors.
  • Develop Individualized Care Plans: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address patients' unique needs and goals.
  • Provide Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed, monitor therapeutic responses, and assess for potential side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Implement Therapeutic Interventions: Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy techniques, behavioral management strategies, and crisis intervention protocols.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Document Patient Care: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.
  • Certification: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years prior experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit setting.
  • Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and strong attention to detail.
