IT Infrastructure Specialist

Maintaining a strong working relationship with plant, area and regional operations management and personnel is key to success in this role. As the primary point of contact for area installations, migrations and performance of IT Infrastructure technology in business offices, plants and operational environments, you will be responsible for project managing these efforts. This includes troubleshooting complex chronic technical issues, applying technical and system knowledge to provide installation and support of field IT technology, and coordinating with various resources such as technicians, enterprise telecom and system integration resources, vendor sales, support, management and technical teams. The technologies involved in projects and problem solving may include wireless networks, network wiring, LAN/WAN networking, surveillance systems, terminals, PCs, printers, time systems, point of sale interfaces, power supplies and cellular devices. Your expertise will be essential in providing support for voice and data copper and fiber infrastructure requirements, documenting technology inventory and cabling layouts at assigned locations, and serving as project manager for small to medium scale telecom related projects. Additionally, you will assist with telephone and voicemail system installations and support, coordinate with outside contractors to ensure company standards, practices, and safety requirements are met, and perform advanced problem solving by analyzing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established processes and procedures. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining technology spare parts/equipment inventory to provide remote technology support, traveling to remote sites with necessary support equipment and adhering to standard practices, procedures and policies governing principal duties and responsibilities. This role requires 40-70 percent travel with a combination of local and long distance travel.
