Day Porter Qualifications:

  • **Janitorial experience:** Preferred, but not required.
  • **Communication skills:** Outstanding communication skills are essential for this role.
  • **Punctuality and dependability:** You must be punctual and dependable to ensure the smooth operation of our properties.
  • **Reliable transportation:** You must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • **Ability to work independently:** You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • **Physical requirements:** You must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, push, pull, reach over your shoulder, lift, and carry.

Day Porter General Function:

  • **Pick up trash:** You will be responsible for picking up trash as needed and emptying trash receptacles.
  • **Cleaning tasks:** You will perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning cobwebs, wiping down surfaces, and restroom cleaning.
  • **Exterior surface cleaning:** You will clean exterior surfaces of windows, window sills, and doors.
  • **Debris removal:** You will remove and/or clean up any debris or soil such as stickers, chewing gum, coffee spills, and graffiti.
  • **Property inspection:** You will continuously walk the property to inspect all public areas for cleanliness.
  • **Notify supervisor:** You will notify the supervisor in case there is a need for repairs.
  • **Safety equipment:** You will be required to always wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which includes gloves, goggles, safety vest, and any other safety equipment that the task requires.

Requirements:

  • **Detail-oriented:** You must be detail-oriented and able to identify and manage priorities.
  • **Physical requirements:** You must be able to complete the physical requirements of the job.
  • **Janitor/custodian experience:** Preferred, but not required.
