Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking a board-eligible/certified child movement disorders neurologist to join our growing team of 21 faculty in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neurology.
We are committed to clinical excellence, education, and research, and are continuing to expand our services. Our division offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as a supportive work environment with high job satisfaction.
Our Division's Highlights- We have a robust Deep Brain Stimulator Program, with an average of 3-4 implants per year, and approximately 30 patients actively being programmed.
- We offer a comprehensive Movement Disorders and Spasticity Clinic that includes Child Neurology, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Pediatric Neurosurgery.
- We have a large Baclofen pump program managed by Pediatric Rehabilitation.
- We have an established dorsal root rhizotomy program.
- We have an established Botulinum toxin injection program managed by Pediatric Rehabilitation.
- We are home to the largest Tourette Center of Excellence in the United States, which includes Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, and a full-time Family Therapist.
- We are actively involved in research in Cerebral Palsy, Dystonia, Genomics, Clinical Pharmacology, and Neuroimaging.
- We have numerous subspecialty multidisciplinary programs, including neonatal neurology, pediatric stroke, neuro-immunology, mitochondrial disorders, Angelman Syndrome, Dravet Syndrome, TS/NF, and epilepsy.
- We have research collaborations with our Genomic Medicine Center and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutic Innovation.
- We have robust pediatric resident and fellowship programs, including a child neurology residency, clinical neurophysiology fellowship, and headache fellowship.
