Infection Control Specialist

The Infection Control Manager is responsible for the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection at St. Francis Medical Center. This role assists with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining regulatory standards. The Infection Control Manager acts as a primary education consultant to hospital employees, physicians, patients, volunteers, and visitors in safe infection control practices. This position coordinates all hospital infection control activities with the Infection Control Committee, Medical Staff, and hospital employees. The Infection Control Manager responds to potential exposures by communicating with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with policy and procedure development and implementation
- Maintain regulatory standards
- Act as a primary education consultant to hospital employees, physicians, patients, volunteers, and visitors
- Coordinate all hospital infection control activities
- Respond to potential exposures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health, or other life science related field
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate
- Minimum of two years experience in acute care setting with at least one year in infection control or employee health
- APIC membership or other Infection Prevention Organization
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem, or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $104,154.80 to $148,553.60 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
