We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Microbiologist to join our team at the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in the design and delivery of our innovative four-year medical school curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and integrate foundational sciences content, including microbiology and immunology, into our curriculum.
- Design and deliver engaging and effective instructional materials, including clinically relevant narratives and assessment tools.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues to create and deliver flipped classroom content and facilitate small and large group active learning sessions.
- Assess student performance and provide feedback to ensure students meet learning objectives.
- Participate in leadership and group membership within the medical school, including the Curriculum Committee and Admissions Committee.
- Engage in professional development to enhance teaching, educational, and other skills needed to execute responsibilities.
- Doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) with specific training/experience in microbiology/immunology or a closely related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in delivering microbiology/immunology content in higher education, with evidence of teaching excellence and experience in curricular development, review, or implementation.
- Experience in inter-disciplinary team endeavors and comfort with educational technologies and active learning methodologies.
- Greater than 2 years of experience in an accredited undergraduate medical education or postgraduate level education programs with concentration in microbiology/immunology or closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in medical education, including curriculum development, formulating and editing assessment tools, and delivery in the field of microbiology/immunology.
- Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating an integrated foundational science course.
