Job Summary

The Cardio-diagnostic Technologist plays a vital role in our team, performing a range of noninvasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. This includes conducting EKGs, event monitoring applications, pacemaker interrogations, and stress testing procedures under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, monitoring patient responses during diagnostic testing, rooming patients for office visits, and reviewing their past medical history and allergies/medications. This position also requires occasional duties such as chart management, pre-procedure calls, triaging phone calls/EPIC messages, and clerical tasks to ensure efficient department functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cardio-diagnostic testing under the supervision of a physician, monitoring patients' responses throughout testing.
  • Recognize normal vs. abnormal cardiac rhythms and perform all aspects of ambulatory arrhythmia monitoring.
  • Conduct a range of tests, including Exercise Stress Testing, Echocardiogram Exercise Stress Testing, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram Testing, Vasodilator SPECT (Nuclear) Stress Testing, and Tilt Table Studies.
  • Room patients for office visits, follow-ups, consults, and obtain vital signs, review medication reconciliation lists, allergies, and patient height/weight.
  • Apply Holter and Event Monitoring systems per MD order and follow up/triage urgent notifications obtained from third-party Preventice company to appropriate parties.
  • Chart review to prepare for cardio-diagnostic testing and consult visits, performance of pre-procedural calls, triaging patient phone calls/EPIC messages, and ancillary clerical duties including ordering medical supplies.
Requirements
  • Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences.
  • Certification in Cardiovascular Technology or Medical Assistant.
  • 1-2 years of experience in cardio-diagnostic testing.
  • General knowledge of EKG/Rhythms and ability to differentiate normal vs. abnormal EKG.
  • Knowledge of or experience in cardio-diagnostic stress testing.
