Position Overview: The Group Fitness Instructor will lead engaging and effective fitness classes designed for student wellness. This role involves creating a safe, enjoyable, and motivating environment for participants across various fitness disciplines, including Tai Chi, Zumba, Kickboxing, Spin, Pilates, Yoga, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in group exercise classes, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes individuals of all fitness levels, providing encouragement and motivation.
- Design and implement effective class choreography and movement sequences tailored to participant needs.
- Respond appropriately to safety and emergency situations during classes.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor with participants and colleagues.
Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience in leading group exercise classes independently.
- Current certification in group exercise and/or personal training from a recognized organization.
- Degree in Kinesiology or a related field.
- Ability to create and maintain a welcoming environment for all participants.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High energy and stamina to engage participants throughout classes.
- Capability to perform physical movements safely across various skill levels.
- Proficient in maintaining attendance records and managing fitness equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with participants and promote wellness programs.
