We are seeking an experienced Auto Damage Appraiser to join our team at Motocruit. As a Collision Repair Specialist, you will play a critical role in evaluating collision damage and preparing accurate repair estimates. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of collision repair processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About the Job
As an Auto Damage Appraiser, your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify all collision damage. You will then prepare accurate repair estimates using computerized estimating software, ensuring that all repairs are in compliance with insurance guidelines. Additionally, you will communicate with insurance adjusters to ensure that estimates are approved in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for ordering parts and scheduling repairs, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget. Your excellent customer service skills will enable you to keep customers informed throughout the repair process, answering any questions they may have and addressing any concerns.
Furthermore, you will conduct quality checks to ensure that all repairs meet the highest standards, including proper fit and finish, paint color match, and that all mechanical components are working as designed. You will review and analyze repair orders to ensure that all work performed is documented accurately. A clean and organized work area is essential, and you must properly dispose of hazardous materials. Lastly, you will follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements
To be successful as an Auto Damage Appraiser, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in collision repair. You must have a thorough understanding of collision repair processes and insurance guidelines. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and insurance adjusters are essential. Good organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, are also required. Proficiency in computerized estimating software is necessary. Finally, a valid driver's license is required. ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification in collision repair is a plus, and I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) certification is highly preferred.
