Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

Overview of the Role:

As a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with application leads, system administrators, database administrators, developers, and testers to ensure that assigned systems meet security compliance standards and successfully achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Adhering to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for comprehensive testing, partial testing, continuous monitoring, and scenarios with no testing.
  • Updating and maintaining Xacta documentation, which includes System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Security Test Plans (STPs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs).
  • Loading necessary artifacts such as Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklists and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans.
  • Assisting in the implementation of STIG checklists and addressing findings from security scans.
  • Providing guidance to ensure that systems are developed with integrated security compliance.
  • Supporting security assessment activities and addressing inquiries from the Protection Assessment Team (PAT), Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), and Security Control Assessors (SCAs).

Qualifications and Experience:

To qualify for this challenging position, candidates should possess the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, Homeland Security, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 14 years of relevant experience is required with a Bachelor's degree. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for education: High School diploma with 18 years; Associate's degree with 16 years; Master's degree with 12 years; PhD with 10 years.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Full-time work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) is required, though hours are flexible.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and protect organizational information assets.
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and identifying vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
  • Experience in developing and overseeing the implementation of strategies to mitigate security risks.
  • Strong background in monitoring systems and networks for security breaches and suspicious activities.
  • A successful history of responding to security incidents, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective measures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active.
  • Experience with Xacta.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience in conducting audits and assessments to verify compliance with security requirements.
