Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician role at Prince Industries involves repairing and maintaining building and mechanical machinery, hydraulic components, and physical structures of production machines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of complex maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain HVAC systems, including filters, belts, and lubrication.
  • Prepare work orders after completing each job.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop maintenance schedules.
  • Perform major and minor remodeling tasks, including painting walls.
  • Repair masonry and roofing.
  • Perform minor and major electrical repairs.
  • Repair plumbing issues.
  • Assist the meter maintenance crew with collection activities as assigned.
  • Perform routine duties as preventative maintenance to machines according to designated schedules.
  • Dismantle machine equipment to access problem areas and remove defective parts.
  • Clean and lubricate machines and machine parts.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • May need to paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
  • Report major machine repairs, tool, or material shortages and concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience, apprenticeship, or formal training is favorable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance experience is required.
Qualifications
  • Ability to recognize and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Extensive knowledge of related machine equipment and tooling is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of various power tools.
  • Excellent knowledge in electrical and mechanical machine repairs.
  • Ability to effectively repair and maintain physical structures and operation of machinery and building.
  • Ability to inspect and test machinery efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with department supervisors and all levels within the company.
  • Mechanically and electronically inclined.
Physical Job Requirements
  • Regularly required to walk or stand for 8-10 hours daily.
  • Occasionally required to sit, bend, reach, crouch, stoop, or kneel.
  • Frequently required to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Excellent hearing and vision abilities are required to accurately detect machine malfunctions.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants and oils.
  • The noise level in the work environment is generally loud, requiring hearing protection.
