Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team at Genesis Attachments. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for prepping, painting, and decorating heavy equipment attachments.
Key Responsibilities- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order or shipping order to determine what color parts need to be painted and when they are due
- Works closely with the Assembly & Paint Shop Supervisor and Warehouse Supervisor to determine when parts need to be painted to ensure on-time delivery to the customer
- Grinds and prepares all parts prior to painting, blends all grind marks and weld marks smooth
- Tapes off all machined surfaces
- Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors
- Sets painting equipment to correct specifications
- Paints surfaces using spray gun
- Uses mill thickness gage to ensure proper paint coverage
- Visually inspects all painted areas
- Sprays machined surfaces with corrosion inhibitor
- Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level
- Installs all covers on attachments using an impact and proper torque tools
- Utilizes sandblast equipment to remove paint and clean attachments
- Clean area at end of each day
- Minimum high school diploma
- 2 years of technical training in industrial painting preferred
- 2 years of industrial painting experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, procedures, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing, 5S
- Previous forklift experience required and ability to pass forklift operation test
