Job Description

The Clinical Quality Analytics and Informatics team at Blue Shield of California delivers high-quality clinical analytics and informatics to support member-centered care. Our data, intelligence, and actionable insights drive quality strategy, performance improvement, and regulatory reporting. We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Quality Analyst - Consultant to provide data, analytic, and reporting support for our CalPERS HMO/PPO lines of business.

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Clinical Quality Department to develop analytical methods, produce complex analysis under minimal supervision, and create documentation for analyses of high complexity. You will also train and mentor team members on best practices for analysis and reporting, assist in developing supplemental analytic training tools and materials, and conduct formal training sessions for lower-level analysts and analysts in other departments.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in health science, quantitative social science, public health, health services research, or business, as well as at least 5 years of SAS/SQL programming experience, 7 years of prior operational and/or data analysis experience, and 5 years of experience working with inpatient claims, outpatient encounters, membership, pharmacy, or laboratory data.
