About the Role

As a Software Engineer III on Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our products and services. You will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Write product or system development code, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select the best technologies for the project.
  • Review and provide feedback on code developed by other engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it to reflect product updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues, debugging and resolving them by analyzing sources and impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis, and resolution, and software test engineering.
