Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Radiology Technologist Level II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of standard radiographic procedures in a safe and efficient manner. You will review and transmit films and reports to appropriate physicians, perform reception and clerical duties within the Radiology Department, and prepare required departmental reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing their needs and providing patient education.
  • Perform radiographic and/or fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Demonstrate skills for IV placement and injection of contrast materials.
  • Operate computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images.
  • Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Enter and properly complete all patient information, including exam charges and supplies, into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and/or other KP application.
  • Prepare films for interpretation by the radiologist in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to unique needs of the department and respond appropriately.
  • Communicate abnormal situations to proper sources in a way that facilitates resolution and/or tracking.
  • Actively engage other health care providers (radiologist, ordering practitioners) to ensure quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care.
  • Follow department procedures/processes/policies.
  • Practice safety measures in radiography by adhering to all governing regulations.
  • Follow universal precautions, infection control guidelines, and sterile technique.
  • Comply with all governing regulations.
  • Stock and clean exam rooms/work areas.
  • Take rotational call for after-hours facilities and be responsible for coverage if unable to take call.
  • May be responsible for clinical instruction of student technologists.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Apply the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Requirements:

  • One (1) year of experience as a Radiological Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Radiologic Technologist certification.
  • General knowledge of EH&S, OSHA, DHR, Radiation Safety and Protection.
  • General knowledge of exam protocols.
  • Basic PC (keyboarding & navigation) skills.
