Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Veterinarian to join our Community Medicine team, providing expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people through our stationary and mobile veterinary clinics. As a key member of our team, you will provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients, overseeing all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day. You will also perform pre-surgery physical examinations, diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications, and provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical care to patients, including physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and discharge information
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations on all surgical candidates
  • Diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications
  • Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, using low-stress handling techniques
  • Triage and refer cases that do not fall within CM's parameters of care as appropriate
  • Perform humane euthanasia in accordance with ASPCA policy and CM protocols
Requirements:
  • Current New York State veterinary license
  • Fear Free Veterinary certification within 60 days of hire
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • Experience in general small animal practice or shelter medicine preferred
  • Experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter preferred
