Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric ICU Float Pool team at Rady Childrens Hospital - San Diego. As a Pediatric ICU Nurse Specialist, you will provide exceptional care to critically ill patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Pediatric ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Manage ventilators, trachs, and multiple monitoring skills, including CVP and EKGS.
  • Float to other units outside of the critical care units, including the ED, to provide care for patients of all ages and acuity levels.
Requirements
  • CA License
  • BLS and PALS certifications
  • 2 full recent years of Pediatric ICU experience
  • Experience with ventilators, trachs, and multiple monitoring skills
Schedule Information

Shifts include 3x12 variable or straight night shifts, with 4-5 weekend shifts on day shifts and 5-6 shifts of Fri-Sat nights. Travelers get one full weekend off every 4-week schedule.

Unit Specific Information

The Pediatric ICU Float Pool position requires care for patients from all age ranges and levels of acuity. The unit has a minimum of 15 beds and higher acuity across all PICU/ICU areas.
