Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Atrium Health Navicent is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Macon, Georgia.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our critical care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, with experience in managing mechanical ventilation, arterial cannulation, and endotracheal intubation. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple patients simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
  • Transport neonates and pediatric patients from referral facilities by ground
  • Manage mechanical ventilation, arterial cannulation, and endotracheal intubation
  • Perform advanced practice skills as needed, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide quality age/developmentally appropriate care
  • Adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment
  • Meet patient care standards to optimize patient outcomes
  • Provide respiratory therapies following age-appropriate standards of care and departmental guidelines
  • Perform and maintain competency for point-of-care testing, as assigned
  • Complete documentation requirements for patient record and billing
  • Report information to relief personnel to ensure continuity of care for the patient
  • Provide educational enhancement to allied health practitioners
  • Ensure age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served
  • Attend all required in-services, staff meetings, and team conferences
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved two or four-year program for respiratory care, or satisfies the requirements in the admissions policies of the NBRC for registry examinations
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and two years' clinical experience with critical care patients (neonatal/pediatric preferred)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed to practice as an RCP in the state of Georgia
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
  • OR Pediatric ITLS
  • CCT required
