Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at SimVentions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications for a high-visibility Naval information system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide software engineering support for a high-visibility Naval information system that integrates with EW sensors.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel to determine appropriate software standards, processes, procedures, and tools to best achieve project success.
  • Develop software to communicate with other hardware using TCP/IP, UDP, and serial communications.
  • Work on Electronic Warfare Systems and other Shipboard systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Navy Software Safety and industry best programming practices.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in software design, development, and engineering applied to program and system level development.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in developing real-time system and subsystem level software products, databases, knowledge, or experience with operating systems (LINUX and MS Windows) and interfaces.
  • Modeling and/or simulations, real-time system control architectures, interface coding, Information Assurance/Cyber Security requirements, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) experience, experience, and/or ability to code in the following: C++.
Preferred Skills
  • Agile methodology & knowledge of GIT, Jira, and BitBucket.
  • Object Oriented software design concepts.
  • DDS Pub/Sub communication.
  • Navy Product Line Architecture.
Education

A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required.

Clearance

A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Travel

Travel to Dahlgren Naval Base may be required.
