Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Trinity Hospital. As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for embedding, cutting, staining, and labeling tissue specimens/slides. You will also perform Immunohistochemistry and Special stain procedures, as well as maintain control tissues and all instruments/stains while maintaining a clean and well-organized lab environment.

Responsibilities
  • Embed, cut, stain, and label tissue specimens/slides
  • Perform Immunohistochemistry and Special stain procedures
  • Maintain control tissues and all instruments/stains
  • Ensure a clean and well-organized lab environment
Requirements
  • ASCP certification preferred but not required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • HT or HTL certification highly recommended
  • Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in biological or chemical science, or previous on-the-job training with experience of at least 3 or more years
  • Automated IHC and special stains (Ventana Ultra, Ultra Plus and Special Stainer) highly recommended
  • Experience with Vantage, Sakura Tissue Tek Prisma Plus H&E stainer & Film Coverslipper, Leica automated microtomes, Peloris Tissue Processor and Cerner Millennium LIS highly recommended
Additional Details
  • Some documents required include I9 or Attestation, Driver's License or Government Issued ID, and Educational documents
  • AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required for certain units
  • MLT/MT/HT, Sleep Tech / Polysonographer, Respiratory Therapist and other allied professions need to have the appropriate registrations or licenses
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • Several health documents are necessary such as Physical Exam, Mask Fit Test, TB test, Hepatitis B documentation, Varicella, Drug Test, Flu Vaccination, and COVID-19 vaccination or exemption
  • Background checks and professional references are part of the hiring process
